Why are some products packed in plastic bags?
We always try and keep packaging to a minimum and our box covers and plastic bags are made from biodegradable plastic. We encourage our suppliers to make their bags biodegradable as well. Some of our softer produce, such as grapes or cherry tomatoes, needs more protection and is packed to prevent damage. Some other fresh produce, such as lettuce, loses moisture very quickly, and needs to be put into bags by our suppliers to prevent it from drying out.
